In the aftermath of the Carr Fire, we saw a need for efficient, affordable, and resilient housing for those devasted by disaster.
The California Carr Fire was a catastrophic wildfire that occurred in July 2018. It burned approximately 229,651 acres making it one of the most destructive wildfires in California's history. The fire claimed the lives of eight people and destroyed a staggering 1,604 structures, of which 1,077 were residences. The fire spread rapidly due to dry conditions, high temperatures, and strong winds, resulting in significant challenges for firefighters and emergency responders. The Carr Fire serves as a tragic reminder of the destructive power of wildfires and the importance of proactive measures to prevent and mitigate their impact.

From 2013 to 2022, there were an average of 61,410 wildfires and an average of 7.2 million acres impacted annually. In 2022, 68,988 wildfires burned 7.6 million acres in the United States
Since 2018 there have been over 49,617 homes lost to the destruction of wildfires in the United States
The average number of homes damaged or destroyed by hurricanes in the United States is approximately 300,000 per year
There have been 71 hurricanes since 2013 with even more tropical storms and tropical tornadoes impacting coastal and inland areas
